Aknalich, a village located in the Armavir Province of the Republic of Armenia, resides 21 miles from the capitol, Yerevan. The village was established in 1954, and has a population of 3,300 people and 750 households. Their main source of income derives from fishing, farming livestock, and general agriculture. While there are about 80 children who are at the age where they can attend preschool, Aknalich’s kindergarten facility only has room for enrollment for around 40 children. In 2018, FCN installed a playground for the children of the kindergarten to provide a safe environment for physical activity, which promotes children’s steady growth and development.
