Focus on Children Now (FCN), Inc. Kicked off the "Children's Nutrition Program"

Glendale, CA – December 8, 2008 – Friends and supporters of Focus on Children Now (FCN) gathered on Saturday, December 6 at the home of Avo and Siroush Amirian for a Wine and Cheese Mixer to kick off the Children's Nutrition Program. This newly adopted program, which will benefit 376 school children in the town of Bertzor by daily providing milk and a snack, is scheduled to begin in January 2009.

One of FCN's founding members, Robert Amirian, presented the project details to approximately 55 guests and elaborated upon ways that individuals can support FCN's activities which continue to meet real needs throughout Armenia. Attendees also listened to guest Terra Sprague, a former Peace Corps Volunteer to Armenia and specialist in international education policy and development. Terra elaborated on the impact of FCN's programs to date, including the Humanitarian Aid program and projects at Gavar Special School. As an individual who worked in Armenian schools for three years and witnessed first-hand the needs of school children, she spoke of the appropriateness of FCN's new Children's Nutrition Program.
