Los Angeles, March 2009 – Focus on Children Now (FCN) was the organization of honoree at the 7th Annual USC Armenian Graduate Students’ Association (USC AGSA) Gala. The proceeds from the January 30, 2009 Gala were donated to FCN’s Children's Nutrition Program.
“One of USC AGSA’s missions is to bring the youth together and give back to the community. It was our pleasure to honor Focus on Children Now at our 2009 annual gala and be part of such a worthy cause - one that is committed to making the world a better place and break the poverty cycle,” said the USC AGSA board.
With this donation, FCN will provide daily nourishment to over 200 children in Armenia for an entire school year. Thus, over 200 students will no longer attend school hungry and can now study on a fuller stomach. The daily milk and snack they will be provided will also help with their mental and physical development and well being.
“We are grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of USC AGSA’s annual giving tradition. Their commitment to the Armenian cause is commendable. It is always nice to see the leaders of our younger generation involved with philanthropy, aware of their heritage and generously giving their time and effort to better the lives of others,” said Kariné Aboolian, co-founder and president of FCN.
