Khashtarak (Armenian: Խաշթառակ) village is located in the Tavush region of Armenian approximately 144 KM from Yerevan (approximately 3hrs drive). The population of the village is 1,950, with 545 households. The resident’s main source of income is farming, agriculture, and livestock cultivation.

The village has one school (1-12 grade) with 200 students. Although fully renovated, the village kindergarten is currently not operating, due to a lack of furniture.

The kindergarten has requested 70 beds with bedding and furniture (closets, tables, chairs, and shelves) as well as a playground to open its doors to two groups of kindergarteners (a total of 70 children). Opening the kindergarten not only benefits the children but also provides full-time employment for 7-8 residents of the village.
